Remember it is very important to take a good look at your home before beginning a major landscaping project.  If you have a southwestern style home it would look out of place with an english garden.  instead simple hardscaping with some palms and rock will fit the bill.  Is your house formal and very symetrical have the landscaping match with neatly placed trees and shrubs along with clean lines on your surroundings.  Remember if your house is unique make the landscaping match too!  Boring landscaping could take away from the charm of your one of a kind home.
