When it comes to damage from sun, rain, and wind, one of the main problem areas for a home is the exterior trim and/or southern exposure sides.

Wether you are going to paint your home or have a pro do it make sure it is prepped correctly.  At minimum you need to powerwash, clean and lightly sand problem areas.  You then want to apply a high quality primer before you paint.  Some times you will need to scrape, sand, and re-caulk some problem areas.

Without a primer coat you will be painting again way too soon.  Another good tip to aid in a long lasting paint job is to tint your primer with some of your top coat.
